Berg & Androphy Hosts Sen. Charles Grassley, Chairman of Senate Judiciary Committee
HOUSTON, June 30, 2015 — Joel Androphy, a co-founder of the Berg & Androphy law firm, and Dannenbaum Engineering CEO James Dannenbaum proudly welcomed Sen. Charles Grassley to Houston on Monday.
Androphy said, “Sen. Grassley is the architect of the modern-age False Claims Act or Qui Tam laws that protect whistleblowers that report government fraud in health care, defense contracting, and financial institutions. He has led the effort to modernize these laws originally enacted by President Lincoln. We were pleased to lend our support to Sen. Grassley and to introduce him to new friends among Texas lawyers and business leaders of many political perspectives.”
Sen. Grassley is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Committee on Finance, the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, the Committee on the Budget, and the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Androphy, who is author of the book Federal False Claims Act and Qui Tam Litigation (Law Journal Press), added, “Sen. Grassley continues vital legislative and oversight work for whistleblowers, in and out of government, who speak up about wrongdoing. He also remains a pragmatic leader in Washington on important issues such as government bureaucracy and waste, tax policy, and immigration.”
The event was held at Berg & Androphy’s Houston offices.
