Partners Michael M. Fay and Jenny H. Kim and three associates, Chris L. Sprengle and Jason M. Herbst, join Berg & Androphy’s New York office
NEW YORK and HOUSTON, June 17, 2015 — Berg & Androphy announced today that its relocated New York office has added two new partners – Michael M. Fay and Jenny H. Kim – and three new associates – Jason M. Herbst, Chris L. Sprengle and Kurt A. Emhoff.

The five lawyers were previously associated with Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP’s New York office.
Michael M. Fay’s practice covers a broad spectrum of litigation involving complex financial products, bankruptcy, corporate governance, general commercial, insurance, real estate, toxic tort and product liability matters. He has represented numerous investment firms, hedge funds, financial institutions and corporations in courts throughout the nation. He also has extensive trial experience in federal and state courts, as well as before arbitration panels. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 1987), where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Politics, and William & Mary College (B.A., 1983). He is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Fourth Circuits. He was a law clerk to the Hon. John A. MacKenzie of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Jenny H. Kim is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in mortgage-backed securities, structured finance, derivatives and securities fraud litigation. Jenny also analyzes litigation-related and/or distressed investments for investors, including hedge funds. Jenny has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the country and has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the 2014 edition of New York Metro Super Lawyers. She is a graduate of the New York University School of Law (J.D., 2004) and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., 2001). She is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She was a law clerk to the Hon. Kiyo A. Matsumoto of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Jason M. Herbst focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including securities fraud, trade secret misappropriation and antitrust matters. He is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 2004), Columbia University (B.A., 2000) and the Jewish Theological Seminary (B.A., 2000). He is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Chris L. Sprengle’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, including disputes arising from complex financial transactions. He is a graduate of Florida State University College of Law (J.D., 1998) and the State University of New York, Purchase (B.A., 1992). He is admitted to practice in New York and Florida and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Southern District of Florida.
Kurt A. Emhoff focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and sports and entertainment law. Kurt has represented clients in securities fraud, internal investigations and antitrust matters. Kurt has also represented numerous world champions and top promoters in the sport of boxing. Kurt has lectured on lawyering in the boxing industry at Boston University School of Law, as well as serving on a New York County Lawyers Association expert panel discussing the future of mixed martial arts in New York. He is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 1996) and Pennsylvania State University (B.S., 1990). He is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
